Safety and prevention
The health and safety of all festival-goers, teams, partners, volunteers and artists is at the heart of FestiVoix’s concerns. From prevention to site planning and control, as well as the presence of security guards and a medical team on site, FestiVoix puts in place several measures to ensure the safety of all during each edition.
PERMITTED ITEMS
Cameras of all types, plastic baby bottles or juice cups, reusable plastic water bottles, light sealed snacks or fruit (e.g. candy bars and bananas), ear muffs (strongly recommended for young children), backpacks and bags (search mandatory), baby carriers, beach towels or blankets, ponchos.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
Chairs & portable folding chairs, children’s carts, reusable metal water bottles, glass and metal bottles or containers, cans, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, coolers, food (except light sealed snacks or fruit), umbrellas, bicycles, skateboards or skates, sticks, balls, balloons of any kind, motorcycle or bicycle helmets, animals, illegal drugs, musical instruments, megaphones, objects intended for sale/promotion, inflatable objects, tents, fireworks or firecrackers, water guns, laser pointers, weapons, blunt or sharp objects or any object that may pose a danger to the safety of others.
Please note that FestiVoix is not responsible for lost or stolen objects.
Recommendations
For safety reasons, strollers and mobility scooters are strongly discouraged on the sites. We would also like to point out that moving through crowds with a stroller, scooter or scooter is risky at all times. The pressure exerted can be very high in the heart of the crowd on busy evenings, and the risk of falling is high in the event of crowd movement or evacuation*.
We encourage you to make responsible choices for the safety of yourself, your children and others.
Free zones for depositing your strollers or parking your mobility scooters are available at the site entrances. These areas are located less than 2 metres from the main entrances. Volunteers are on hand during information kiosk opening hours.
The zones are accessible at all times, and are located at the following three entrances:
Main entrance in the tunnel near the checkroom
Rue des Ursulines, opposite the Fabrique de théâtre insolite
CMI entrance next to the information kiosk
Wheelchairs are also available for festival-goers wishing to get from the site entrance to the reduced-mobility zones, and volunteers are on hand to accompany you from one area to another. Chairs are also available in reduced-mobility areas.
*FestiVoix reserves the right to prohibit the use of strollers on certain evenings, depending on the style of show presented, and in the event of large anticipated crowds for safety reasons.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
On the various festival sites, it is your responsibility to be aware of and comply with all rules and regulations in force. For full details, please consult the Rules and Measures page on our website.
FIRST AID
The SAM Mauricie medical team, made up of a doctor and super-nurses, is constantly on the move throughout the FestiVoix sites. They are trained to deal with all eventualities, and are on standby throughout the concerts. Infirmaries are also set up on FestiVoix sites. Members of the medical team can be identified by their fluorescent vests. Don’t hesitate to call on them if you need help.
FestiVoix also hires security personnel with work permits issued by the Bureau de la Sécurité privée.
SERVICES AT YOUR DISPOSAL
During the event, the SAM Mauricie team offers a number of services for families and individuals with permanent or temporary mobility problems. Changing tables, breast-feeding facilities, crutches, canes and wheelchairs are available to festival-goers free of charge on the main event site. To access these services, simply contact a member of the Sam Mauricie medical team, easily identifiable by their fluorescent bibs. They will be happy to help you.
Please note that the number of crutches, canes and wheelchairs available is limited. To borrow equipment, you must leave your driver’s license.
WE’RE HERE FOR YOU
Concerned with providing a healthy environment for all and promoting the integration and well-being of all festival-goers, FestiVoix works closely with the Chez Foufounes mental, sexual and social health clinic, the community organization Groupe de recherche et d’intervention psychosociale (GRIP), the SAM Mauricie medical team and the Trois-Rivières police and fire department to ensure your protection and a pleasant experience. If you see a vulnerable person, witness a worrying event or experience an uncomfortable situation during your FestiVoix experience, don’t hesitate to contact our security team (duly identified), who will take all necessary measures to ensure your safety and, if necessary, put you in touch with the Trois-Rivières Police and Fire Department.
EMERGENCY AND EVACUATION PLAN
In collaboration with the Service de police et d’incendie de Trois-Rivières, security firms and the SAM Mauricie team, an emergency and evacuation plan, as well as a complete security plan produced and certified by PMU Québec, are in place to ensure the smooth running of the event and the effectiveness of interventions in the event of an incident.
CROWD MOVEMENTS
In the event of crowd movement during a concert, gradually move away from the spectators creating the movement. Since pressure can be very high in the front rows of the audience, FestiVoix strongly advises responsible adults not to venture out with young children.
YOUNG CHILDREN
Children aged 10 and under are admitted free of charge to general admission when accompanied by a responsible adult holding an admission ticket*. However, festival-goers of all ages (including children) must hold a ticket to gain access to the privileged zones, i.e. the Belitec VIP zone, the Avant-scène zone, the Club FestiVoix Desjardins and the Groupe Somavrac Lodges. For safety reasons, we strongly recommend that you do not venture out with very young children into the crowd on the asphalt, especially in the front rows of the audience at the Fleuve Loto-Québec main stage on the most popular nights.
Children under 13 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and supervised at all times. Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising their children throughout the event. If a child under the age of 13 is left unattended and unsupervised on the site, FestiVoix disclaims all responsibility. We strongly encourage you to take into account the safety recommendations for young children on our website.
Some stages are more suitable for young children, including the following:
Hydro-Québec Monastery stage
Garden Stage
Quai Port de Trois-Rivières Stage
Scène de la Vieille Prison Le Trou du diable
Scène de la Cour
Scènes éphémères Culture Trois-Rivières
Canac Family Island
HEARING PROTECTION
Please note that the sound level of some concerts may be harmful to the sensitive ears of young children. We strongly suggest that you bring headphones or earplugs. We provide free earplugs for babies and children on request at the entrance to the main site.
WEATHER CONDITIONS
All concerts on the FestiVoix schedule take place rain or shine, except in the event of an electrical storm or strong winds that could jeopardize the safety of festival-goers and/or artists.
We advise you to take a few precautions to adapt to temperature variations. Don’t forget that evenings tend to be cool near the St. Lawrence River!
On hot summer days: wear light clothing, bring a hat or cap, choose shady areas, hydrate and refresh your skin regularly, and apply sunscreen!
On rainy days: wear warm, comfortable shoes and a raincoat!
*FestiVoix reserves the right to impose an admission fee on certain evenings for all participants, regardless of age, depending on the style of show presented that evening, and in the event of large crowds anticipated for safety reasons.
