We Came As Romans continue to evolve at lightspeed, maintaining their place at the forefront of heavy music and culture. Never content to follow, they blend crushing groove-driven catharsis, spacey electronics, and arena-size singalongs into a sound that moves effortlessly between metal, alternative, hardcore, and rock.
Since emerging in 2005, the Michigan quintet Joshua Moore [guitar], Dave Stephens [vocals], Lou Cotton [guitar], Andy Glass [bass], and David Puckett [drums] have consistently pushed boundaries. Following To Plant A Seed (2009) and Understanding What We’ve Grown To Be (2011), Tracing Back Roots cracked the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 and reached #1 on both the Independent Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums charts in 2013. Two years later, We Came As Romans debuted at #11 on the Billboard 200, while Cold Like War (2017) was hailed by Alternative Press as “a milestone for WCAR.” Along the way, they’ve sold out headline tours and shared stages with A Day To Remember, Bring Me The Horizon, I Prevail, The Used, Sleeping With Sirens, and Parkway Drive.
In 2018, the band faced the tragic loss of original clean vocalist Kyle Pavone. In the years that followed, they found renewed strength an energy that fueled Darkbloom (2022), produced by Drew Fulk. The album received some of the best reviews of their career, including a 4/5 rating from KERRANG!, and featured two of their most successful songs: Black Hole (with Caleb Shomo of Beartooth), surpassing 102 million Spotify streams, and Daggers (with Zero 9:36), with over 32 million streams.
The band continues to move forward with the 2025 single BAD LUCK, a powerful track reflecting on their journey through setbacks and perseverance. As always, We Came As Romans keep pushing ahead with more music to come in 2025 and beyond.
Don’t Miss We Came As Romans on Friday, July 3rd at the Loto-Québec River stage starting at 8:30 PM.
