It all begins in Montreal, where Aliocha‘s parents settled after leaving Paris to embark on an adventure. Aliocha started singing at 10 and playing guitar at 13. He began writing his own songs, first in English, then met Jean Leloup, his musical mentor, who encouraged him to head into the studio. His debut album, Eleven Songs, released in 2017 on Audiogram, helped the singer-songwriter get noticed on stages both locally and internationally.
In 2020, he followed up with a second album, Naked. To cope with the forced break due to the pandemic, Aliocha took on a new challenge: he translated one of his songs into French. This led to C’est tout, c’est rien, a first attempt that was well received, motivating him to keep going. It was as if in French, Aliocha opened up more, exploring themes like love, long-distance relationships, desires, and dreams. Aliocha experimented with new sounds and compositions. His two first singles, Avant Elle and Ensemble, earned praise from both critics and the public.
Don’t miss Aliocha Schneider on the Monastère Hydro-Québec stage on Sunday, July 6, starting at 7 p.m.!
