Basile Seni is a Quebec artist of Burkinabè origin and a multi-talented musician who developed a passion for music at a very young age. Coming from a family of griots, where voice and musical instruments are central to cultural identity, he was mentored by his late father, Bénimavé, an expert in balafon, storytelling, and traditional music, who passed on his knowledge and passion.
Driven to совершен his craft, Basile learned to play several instruments, including the djembe, kora, n’goni, and drums, and also trained in their making and repair. His talent and versatility have led him to perform on major stages, such as the Tamani d’Or Festival in Mali and the Francophonie Summit in Burkina Faso, and to collaborate on the album Terra Bella by soprano Nathalie Choquette.
