Catherine Laurin, best known as a singer-songwriter with the band Cosmophone and as a violinist and vocalist with Pourpre, presents her project Catherine Alone for the very first time.
Alone on piano and the Dave Smith Instruments Prophet ’08, she performs her introspective songs in English and occasionally in French.
For now, Catherine Alone has no band, no official releases, and no record label. The project is taking shape in the magical space between writing and recording, where songs briefly emerge before being captured. At its core, Catherine Alone is meant to be experienced live in a venue, in a bar.
Fascinated by the tradition of intimate songwriting, Catherine Laurin offers with Catherine Alone a universe that is both fragile and raw: dark songs lit by a burning sun of desire.
