Koriass
Fascinated by rap from his teenage years, Koriass had not even reached adulthood when he made his stage debut. Discovered in 2008 by Disques 7ième Ciel, he immediately devoted himself to producing his first full album, Les racines dans le béton, followed by Petites Victoires (2011), which ranked among the top-selling Canadian albums.
In November 2013, Koriass released Rue des Saules, showcasing the full range of his talent and earning him the Félix Award for Hip-Hop Album of the Year in the fall of 2014. At the end of 2015, he unexpectedly released the EP Petit Love as a prelude to his album Love Suprême, which came out the following February. Love Suprême added numerous accolades to his career, including the Félix Award for Hip-Hop Album of the Year at ADISQ, eight additional nominations at the same gala, the Artist of the Year award at GAMIQ, and a JUNO nomination for Francophone Album of the Year.
Considered one of the leading figures of Quebec rap, Koriass made a strong comeback in fall 2018 with La Nuit des Longs Couteaux, a powerful album blending intricate melodies with the sharp, incisive lyrics he is known for. Four years later, he released his sixth album, Abri de fortune (pour fin du monde). This record reveals the evolution of the man behind the persona, combining maturity, cynicism, humor, sensitivity, and unwavering focus.
