MR.82 (Monsieur Quatre-Vingt-Deux) is a synthwave band with a numerical twist, whose songs oscillate between questionable humor and unapologetic vulgarity. Born in 2020 in a cloud of synthetic smoke and retro-futuristic keyboards, the group quickly drew attention thanks to music videos as wild as a VHS tape microwaved beyond recognition. With tracks like Robot Policier and Fumer Partout, MR.82 has carved out its own space in the Quebec music scene—somewhere between an ’80s action movie soundtrack and a nostalgia-fueled haze.
In 2022, they hit the stage for the first time at the legendary Foufounes Électriques, opening for none other than Mononc’ Serge, confirming their status as a band that’s hard to describe but impossible to ignore.
Since then, MR.82 has been touring bars, venues, and sometimes even the questionable dreams of overly intoxicated fans, showcasing their unique universe where rock meets absurdity and seriousness gets a slap in the back of the head.
Don’t miss MR.82 on Friday, July 3rd, at the ABI Urbain stage at Café-Bar Zénob, starting at 11 p.m.
