Recognized for his excellence for over 25 years, Sébastien Lépine is a prominent figure in the Canadian cello scene. As a soloist, chamber musician, conductor, and composer, he brings fresh energy to classical music with passion and refinement. He has performed across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Italy, and France, and has collaborated with prestigious orchestras such as the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières and the Camerata Orquesta de Bellas Artes de Mexico.
A recipient of several awards, including the Prix Louis-Philippe Poisson, he also inspired Gilles Bellemare to compose a cello concerto in his honor. A dedicated teacher at the Conservatoire de musique de Trois-Rivières, Sébastien refined his craft with great masters, including Janos Starker.
He has the privilege of playing a Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume cello and an Eugène Sartory bow, on loan from CANIMEX.
