Driven by a shared love of ska, punk & reggae, and a post-pandemic need to let loose, and skank it up, a group of musicians and friends in Montreal have put together a project called Ska Sound System to have fun and make people dance and sing.
Featuring members of several Montreal bands (Grimskunk, Me, Mom & Morgentaler, Colectivo, FoOlish, Francbâtards, Van Hornies, Blue Monkey Project), this group has no pretension other than to spread good party vibes through a diverse array of old school and modern ska, punk and reggae through the music of bands like Sublime, The Clash, the Specials, Operation Ivy, Rancid, Toots & the Maytals, Madness, etc… all with a touch of international and latin ska and a few Grimskunk classics to boot.
Don’t miss Ska Sound System on Friday, July 3rd, on the Old Prison stage Le Trou du Diable in collaboration with the Pop Museum, starting at 5:10 p.m.
